Dried Fruit
2 articles
Dried fruit is fruit preserved by removing much of its water, producing a compact, chewy format that includes raisins, prunes, dates, apricots, and similar products. It is used in trail mix, cereals, baking, and snacks, and may be sold sweetened or unsweetened, sulfited or unsulfited. For nutrition and label comparisons, drying concentrates the fruit’s natural sugars by weight, so portion size, added sugar, preservatives, and ingredient lists matter more than they do for the same fruit in fresh form.
