Funding model
Shake Nutrition may earn revenue through display advertising, sponsorships, affiliate links, newsletter sponsorships or other standard publisher revenue models. This funding supports reporting, editing, taxonomy maintenance, technical hosting and updates to consumer nutrition coverage.
Commercial revenue does not turn a product into a recommendation. Editorial judgment remains separate from advertising operations.
Affiliate disclosure
Some pages may contain affiliate links. If a reader clicks a link and buys a product, Shake Nutrition may receive a commission at no extra cost to the reader. Pages containing affiliate links should make that relationship clear in language readers can understand before relying on the content.
Affiliate links are never a substitute for label review, source checking or caution language. A product can be commercially linkable and still receive criticism, limitations or safety notes.
Sponsorship rules
Sponsored material must be labelled. Sponsored content cannot be disguised as independent review coverage. If a sponsor has input into topic selection or messaging, the relationship must be disclosed in the article.
We do not allow sponsors to remove material cautions, change a review conclusion, suppress a competing product or require medical-sounding claims.
Product samples
If products are provided for editorial consideration, that fact should be disclosed when it matters to the reader. Receiving a sample does not guarantee coverage, favourable coverage or inclusion in a comparison.
When taste, texture or mixability are discussed, the article should say whether the comments are based on direct use, label analysis, reader feedback or third-party information.
Conflicts of interest
Writers and reviewers are expected to disclose paid relationships, consulting work, brand employment, personal product ownership or other conflicts that could influence coverage. Articles may be reassigned or reviewed more closely when a conflict exists.
Reader trust
The reader should always be able to tell when content is editorial, when it is sponsored and when it contains affiliate links. If a disclosure is unclear, it should be rewritten in plainer language.
